Apple Menu Icon, use to open a Desk Accessory, (DA). A DA is a small accessory program such as the calculator.

Application Folder Window, Double click on the Application Folder Icon to display this window, and check the contents. This window is the active window because it is on the top layer, and it has a gray title bar.

Application Menu, use to switch between applications or the finder.

Balloon Help, use to get information that helps you use the computer and applications.

Close Box, click it to close a window.

Desktop Menu, use to display pull down menus for items on the desktop.

    File Menu, use to perform operations with disks, files, folders, windows, and printers.
    Edit Menu, use to work with text and graphics and undo functions.
    View Menu, use to change the way items are displayed in the active window.
    Label Menu, use to assign labels to items on the desktop.
    Special Menu, use to cleanup icons menu, empty trash, erase disks, and restart the system.







Floppy Disk Icon, Double click the Floppy Disk Icon to display its window, and check contents.

Hard Disk Window and Icon, Double click the Hard Disk Icon to display this window, and check its contents. This window is the inactive window because it below the other window, and it has a white title bar. Click on the window once to make it active.

Information Bar, displays the number of files and folders, the amount of disk space used, and the amount of disk space available.

Size Box, use to change the height and width of the window, click and drag the size box.

Scroll Bar, there is a vertical and horizontal scroll bar for viewing the contents of a window. Use the scroll arrows to move the window slowly. Click inside of the gray bar to move faster, or click and drag the scroll box.

Trash Can, to remove an item, or eject a disk click and drag it into the trash.

Window Title Bar, use to move the window, position the pointer in the title bar, click and drag.

Zoom Box, click once to size the window so that all of its contents are visible, if possible. Click once again to return it to its original size.
